Hallmarking
Our hallmark is registered with Goldsmiths Assay office, London.

It is a legal requirement under the Hallmarking Act of 1973, for an item over a certain weight to be described as silver, gold, platinum or palladium must have a hallmark.
- Silver items weighing more than 7.78 g
- Gold items weighing more than 1 g
- Platinum items more than 0.5 g
- Palladium items more than 1 g
Items below these weights are exempt and may be described as silver, gold, palladium or platinum.
The hallmark is applied by one of four assay offices in the UK and shows that the item has been independently tested and verified to match the description therefore conforming to the standards of purity or fineness of the metal. The hallmark is made up of a number of components:
- The Sponsor mark which is registered to the maker and is unique.
- The Assay office that applied the mark
- The purity of the metal which is recorded as parts per thousand as metals are not usually used in their purest form but alloyed with others to improve its strength or working characteristics.
- The date which is optional
These can be applied either by being traditionally struck or more recently by laser.
